Paper Pumpkin Ornament
Select one piece of Creepy Crawly Designer Series Paper.
Cut in half so you have 1 piece of 12"x6" paper.
Cut into six 1"x12" strips.
Cut the strips into twelve 1"x6" strips
Stack all the strips and use the Crop-A-Dile to punch one 1/8" hole in each end. (Use the hole in the Crop-A-Dile to see exactly where your hole will be.)
Cut approximately 20" of black Gingham Ribbon. Tie a double knot in one end about 5" from the end. At the other end, thread the large needle from the Crafters' Tool Kit. (p.189) (Cut the ribbon at a sharp angle to help you thread it.)
Last chance to decide which side of the paper you want on the outside! Bring the needle down through the design that is to be on the outside of the pumpkin. **Notice it is important at this juncture to dip your thumbnail in waterproof Basic Black ink. :-)) *
Bring the ribbon back through the holes on the other side.
Pull the ribbon until the strips start to bend and the pumpkin is born.
When the shape is as rounded as you want it, tie another double knot in the ribbon to secure it.
Separate all the strips until a round pumpkin is formed.
Smile idiotically and post the picture on your website.
To add a charm, stamp an image from Batty For You (p.27) and punch with the 1-1/4" Circle Punch, then punch an orange or black 1-3/8" circle and sandwich the ribbon between the two with adhesive.
To add a green pumpkin-like thingy at the top, the 5-Petal Flower Punch (p.183) along with the Spring Flower Bouquet Punch (p.184) work well. Punch in shades of green and string them on before tying the second double knot.
